Cooloongup Primary School is an innovative and inclusive school, with dedicated and enthusiastic staff working to provide an environment in which children may grow and develop. 2015, was our inaugural year as an Independent Public School. We contunually strive to deliver the best possible education for each student. The school prides itself on the variety of programs it offers to address the educational and personal growth needs catering for a wide range of student interest and abilities. We are also very proud of the high quality learning environment we are continuing to develop with the support of our school community.
The school has a strong team spirit, which engenders mutual support among staff. This model of loyalty and support is a fine example for the students of the school in their peers’ relationships.
The school is a Tribes school and applies the Four Agreements of Mutual Respect, Attentive Listening, Appreciations No Put Downs and The Right to Pass, not only in the classroom but in all parent and staff activities. Teachers implement a range of teaching strategies including cooperative learning into their teaching programs. In 2014 staff commenced using a Peer Learning Teams model in which we reflect on the use of effective teaching and learning strategies to ensure our students access the learning program to achieve their maximum potential.
Cooloongup Primary School prides itself on its ability to build relationships with families. It’s our belief that children learn the best in a safe, supportive environment, where they can see parents or carers working with the teachers to ensure they achieve success. Therefore, we encourage you to become actively involved in our school by gaining an understanding of the programs we run through Parent workshops, discussion with staff or talking with our parent representatives on either P & C or School Board. Parents are encouraged to join the Parents and Citizens Association, volunteer as a classroom helper or support the school through other advertised activities which could be sporting events, excursions or helping out in the library or canteen.
You are welcome to visit us at any time.
