We don’t have a nurse at the school permanently. We have a visiting nurse, Rosemary who comes once a week. If you have any questions for her, please leave a message at the office.
We have a sick bay located in the office. This has many facilities to aid in First Aid when needed. This includes two beds for unwell children to have a rest and wait to be collected.
We have a few staff members who are trained in Senior First aid and hold current certificates, including CPR. All staff members are trained on Epi Pen administration and Asthma Awareness.
In the event of a child being sick, all efforts are made to contact a parent or legal guardian. All parents are asked to ensure that the school has a phone number or address at which they can be contacted.
Parents are asked to assist the school by ensuring that the school’s records of such information as telephone number, address, place of work, person who can be contacted in an emergency, etc. are current and accurate.
If your child requires medication during school hours, please come to the front office and complete the necessary forms. This is a legal requirement before any medication can be administered.
If your child has an ongoing medical complaint, eg. Asthma, Epilepsy, Bee allergy etc, please complete a Medical Action Plan.
For your information, the following are the exclusion periods for infectious diseases. In all cases, children can be re-admitted on a Medical Certificate stating that the child is no longer likely to convey the infection.
